North Cyprus Solicitor's Note

A brief letter sent to a client of ours by our solicitor in North Cyprus - we thought it sheds light on what the legal process entails, hence we copied it for your perusal..

Dear X

What Cameron Deggin has advised you on the below points is correct.

To elaborate you would not be treated any differently with your purchase and would need to obtain a purchase permit from the Interior Ministry as past of the process. This application would be dealt with by us as your legal representative if you decided to proceed with our firm. This process can take between 12 to 18 months to obtain the permission. Once it is obtained you would be able to transfer the deeds of your property into your name, again this would be arranged by us.

As for the issue of the title deed on advising us of the property you wish to purchase we would conduct our own independent searches at the land registry and advise you of the type of deed which the property held, as well as the current status of the land.  As I can see from Cameron’s reply to you the property is of exchange title which is a very safe and secure title to purchase. This is something which we can discuss further, if you have any specific questions.

Obtaining a Power of Attorney from you is very straight forward and can all be done via email or Fax. All would be advised to you before we would proceed to sign any documents on your behalf. Once we had prepared your contract we would send you a copy to read and approve and to put forward any questions which you had with regards to the contract. Only when you are 100% happy with the contract would be proceed to sign and exchange on your behalf.

The whole process of your purchase would very much depend on the completion of your property. We would be able to give you more detailed and accurate timescale once we have the details of the property.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at any point.

Kindest Regards,

Ayhan Sener
